"In my Father's house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2 Our Father's House During our lifetime many folks will have occupied a number of homes. Each of these major changes in our life can be a special time of reflection. As we settle in and make a house our home, we ask God that His presence may cover us with His abundant grace. God has promised to abide with us if we abide also in Him and His Word. When God is present, our home becomes a holy place, as Jacob declared, ". . . this is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven." While we refer to our new home as "our house," it is really our Father's house, placed in our care, to serve Him day by day, forgiving one another, even as God has forgiven us. Our new home, as solidly constructed as it may be, is not our final home. We are only temporary residents on earth, anticipating our permanent home above. May we all make our home here and now a forecourt of our heavenly home with God.
