"He that hath pity upon
the poor
tendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." Proverbs 19:17 Christian Kindness There are times when people don't appreciate acts of Christian love. However, the love of Christ still prompts our love for others. In thankfulness for His love, we serve Him with our lives, especially by performing acts of Christian generosity. We do so without a thought of reward and often without receiving a word of thanks. In Ecclesiastes 11, verse 1, we are told to cast our bread upon the waters: for we shall find it after many days. The bread of compassion that we cast upon the waters of others' lives does indeed return to us. Also, the reading from Matthew 25 describes how the Lord Himself will acknowledge our works of love on the Last Day. He sees what is done in secret, and He knows the thoughts and motivation of our hearts. It does His heart good to see the service we render Him, even when no one else seems to notice or care. May the good Lord bless you in His service to others, being mindful always, eternal life awaits those who serve Christ in faith.
