"For bodily
exercise profiteth little:
but godliness
is profitable
unto all
things,
having
promise of the life that now is,
and of that
which is to come."
1Timothy 4:8
Living in Crises
An ambulance
speeds through town
with its sirens
blaring . . .
It is always
going to a crisis
or leaving a
crisis.
It is built for
emergencies.
Many people
live the same way today.
They run their
lives with a siren going.
Every day is
desperate,
and every
moment is a crisis
or preparation
for one.
Such as harried
experience leaves
no room for
smelling the roses
or enjoying
sunsets.
Even worse,
it leaves no
time for sharing
friendships and
building love.
What if some of
the things we are
rushing around
to do
don't get done?
Suppose we
substituted a quiet walk
around the
block,
or time off to
call on a friend,
or time out to
read God's Word?
Suppose we
wrote an encouraging note
to someone who
really needed it?
Would our world
fall apart?
Or would it
perhaps get back into
perspective?
Well, Jesus
tells us,
"But seek ye
first the kingdom of God,
and his
righteousness;
and all these
things shall be
added unto
you."
We need to slow
down . . .
Take time to
think
Take time to
play
Take time to be
friendly
Take time to
pray
Take time to
love
Take time to
give.
Life is too
short to be selfishly lived!
Don't allow
yourself to be hurried along!
