"But Peter continued knocking:
and when they had opened the door,
and saw him, they were astonished.
But he, beckoning unto them
with the hand to hold their peace,
declared unto them how the Lord had
brought him out of the prison. . ."
Acts 12:16-17

Effectual Prayer

God does the most amazing things!
Take a look at Peter.
Peter had not known that his fellow Christian
brothers and sisters were praying for him
and asking the Lord to deliver him
from prison. How could he have known?
But they did!
They were helpless, and therefore they
were all the more willing to let the Lord
handle the matter.
However, they had not truly expected
that their prayer should be answered.
They had miscalculated!
They had made God too small.

Do we miscalculate when we pray?
Do we trust in an all-powerful God
to handle our every situation?

All of us can learn a lesson here.
We have to be mindful always, that
we are praying to the true God
 who loves us dearly.
We are asking things of Him
Who can do all things!
We need to have the courage and faith
to step to the throne of grace
and ask God for all things according to His will!

Acknowledge God to be the great God
that He really is!
Nothing would please Him more.
And when we say, "It's impossible!"
Let us remember:
NOTHING is impossible for God!

" . . . The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much."
