"One man esteemeth one day
above another:
another
esteemeth every day alike.
Let every man
be fully persuaded in his own mind."
Romans 14:5
Fully Persuaded
Our minds are
quite impressionable to the influences of our
environment,
ready to keep a record of everything
we encounter
along life's way.
Stored there,
many of our past experiences affect our
present thoughts
and actions.
We must marvel at
God's design in providing us
with this gray
matter between our ears.
Our minds are our
greatest stewardship responsibility.
And we must be
very careful about what they receive.
There is so much
available to us that poisons our minds.
This was also
true in Paul's day.
He exhorted the
Christians at Philippi to watch
what they fed
their minds.
He encouraged
whatever was true, noble, right, pure,
lovely,
admirable, excellent, or deserving praise,
saying,
"Think on
these things."
(Philippians 4:8)
The best
nourishment for our minds is worship
in the body of
Christ with fellow Christians,
and a regular
study of God's Word.
Through them, the
Holy Spirit,
having brought us
to faith in Christ,
works all good
within us.
And the promise
holds true:
"And the
peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep
your hearts and minds
through
Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:7)
May everyone be
fully persuaded in their own mind.
"For whether we
live, we live unto the Lord;
and whether we
die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live
therefore, or die,
we are the
Lord's."
God Bless You!
