"I
find then a law, that, when I
do good,
evil is
present with me.
For I
delight in the law of God
after
the inward man:
But I
see another law in my members,
warring
against the law of my mind,
and
bringing me into captivity
to the
law of sin which is in my
members.
O
wretched man that I am! . . ."
Romans 7:21-24a
Struggling With Willfulness
Determination is quite
prominent today. We
make a decision to do
something, although at
times, not possibly
do-able, we strive to
accomplish it. Most
times we give up ~
more often, we fail.
Ever wonder why?
Perhaps it is because
it is our will
and it's not the place
to will anything to be
done in our own
strength. We need
God's help and
guidance in all our
efforts.
Often, we struggle
with two natures. We
have the determination
of the flesh and the
righteousness of the
mind going on at the
same time. We know
what the right thing
to do is, yet we yield
to do things in our
own flesh.
In
the first Book of
Chronicles, you can
read where David
encouraged Solomon in
building a temple:
"And thou,
Solomon my son, know
thou the God of thy
father, and serve him
with a perfect heart
and with a willing
mind: for the LORD
searcheth all hearts,
and understandeth all
the imaginations of
the thoughts: if thou
seek him, he will be
found of thee; but if
thou forsake him, he
will cast thee off for
ever."
Wow! This is a pretty
powerful verse of
Scripture! And it
makes a lot of sense!
After all, God is
all powerful!!
Let
us take a look at
the "wills" in our
life. If you are
saved, you know the
law of God. If you are
not saved, you need
to know the law of
God and His Son, Jesus
Christ. Then, and only
then, will you be able
to do all things
through Christ Jesus
who strengthens you.
We all need to do the
will of God in every
thing we do!
God
showers us with
blessing upon blessing
~ everyone of us! He
wants us to look to
Him for all our needs.
He wants to be a part
of every thing in our
life. He cares for us,
He loves us
unconditionally............so
much that He gave His
Son up to die on the
cross so that we can
obtain eternal life!
This, indeed, is
remarkable love!
May
we all let go, and let
God show us His will
for our life.
