"For
when for the time ye ought to
be teachers,
ye have
need that one teach you again
which
be the first
principles of the oracles of
God;
and are
become such as have need of
milk,
and not
of strong meat."
Hebrews 5:12
Doors Leading Nowhere
Have you ever been
caught in a revolving
door, going 'round and
'round until you
finally manage to get
out? Well, some people
are like that. They
have no direction as
to where they are
going.
Besides its common use
as the entrance to a
home or building, this
word is used
metaphorically as the
entrance to anything.
Jesus said that
He is
the door, the
entrance, into the
kingdom (John 10:7-9).
The door of faith is
the opportunity of
belief offered to the
Gentiles in Acts 14:27
also. Elsewhere, it
means opportunity.
Paul refers to a great
door opening to him in
2Corinthians 2:13. And
Revelation 4:1 says,
".....I looked, and,
behold, a door was
opened......" Do we,
God's redeemed, have
the ability to see the
open doors? And if so,
do we go in and avail
ourselves of the
opportunities that
await us?
Jude talks about
people who have no
direction, driven
about by winds first
one way then another.
This accomplishes
nothing. Ephesians 4
speaks of being
carried about by every
wind, again depicting
no direction.
Some Christians show
no more direction
after being saved for
thirty or forty years,
than they did when
they first obeyed.
They are caught in a
door going nowhere.
They went through it,
and stopped! They are
still babes in Christ
after all these years.
Paul relates to this
when he says, "By
reason of time you
ought to be teachers."
All
of God's redeemed,
must try to mature and
start thinking about
more than just the
basic things we were
taught about Christ.
Christians who live on
milk are like
babies..............we
need solid food
(strong meat) to
mature and be trained
in the way to go.
Let's get
through those doors and grow
up now.
God is
willing to guide you if you
will make yourself able.
