Our Daily Companion
Here we are, beginning
the month of July!
We have walked the
pathway of our life through nearly another full year
in time.
As we continue in the
days and weeks ahead,
we have the promise of
our daily Companion
that He will be with us
as we venture into each new day.
As God promised to be
with Moses in his work
of leading God's people,
so He will go with us wherever our life may lead us.
Our God not only goes
with us,
but He also gives us the
promise that He will support us.
Through His Word, He
guides our footsteps
upon the ways that will
lead to the accomplishments of our calling in life.
Through His Word, He
directs us safely over all
those stony paths.
Our daily Companion ~
how awesome He is!
" . . . and, lo, I am with you always,
even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Matthew 28:20
For great trials and
sorrows, our Lord gives us strength. But He also gives
the steady power to bear the little problems and small
difficulties we face. As our Companion, through faith,
we know He is always present.
He is a powerful Savior,
a warm-hearted Friend,
our loving Companion, in
all that we do!
"And the
LORD, he it is that doth go before
thee;
he will be
with thee, he will not fail thee,
neither
forsake thee:
fear not,
neither be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:8
No matter where we go,
or what we face in our daily walk through life, the
Lord goes ahead of us. He is already there ~ making
preparations for us. And when we get there, He will
guide and see us through. We trust in Jesus' ability
to do this because He has already gone before us to
the cross. He has taken the punishment that should
have rightly been ours for the sins we commit. He has
endured more pain and sorrow than we could ever
possibly imagine.
He can tell us about the
detours and distresses of life from His own
experiences,
then add His love and
direction to it.
Without Christ's
strength and guidance,
offered through His Word
and sacrament,
how can we ever endure
the changes and challenges in life? With it, we can do
all things, through He who strengthens us.
We need our daily
Companion.
As we walk in faith and
trust in the Lord,
we can walk fearlessly
and confidently through life.
"Have not I
commanded thee?
Be strong and
of a good courage; be not afraid,
neither be
thou dismayed:
for the LORD
thy God is with thee whithersoever
thou goest."
Joshua 1:9
Heavenly Father, we
thank You that You are always near and ready to help
in our every need.
Help us to remember that
Your continual presence is our daily Companion, and
that by Your gracious power, we may always walk with
You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
