"The lip of truth shall be established for ever:
but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
"
Proverbs 12:19

Lying Lips or Lips of Truth

A news documentary on television a while back
claimed that 91 percent of the United States' students
in colleges, universities and graduate schools
cheat on exams and tests in order to graduate.
Wow!

This is what happens when God is rejected
and atheism is accepted.
Atheism will bring down our civilization.
And our civilization is based on mutual trust.
Cheating is lying!
It is stealing that which is not yours.

As an example,
what confidence can we have in our doctors
when we realize that possibly nine of ten are not
really qualified because they stole information
they did not know in order to graduate?
How honest can we expect the billing to be
when nine out of ten of them lied to get through?
Makes one wonder,
'If they cheated the college, will they cheat me?'
How can society survive when you lose trust?

The same is true with other occupations
and even with many stores.
Stores will post one price on the shelf and charge
a higher price at the register.
Customers seldom catch it because items are
scanned too quickly.
But when it is caught, it's corrected with a quick
apology, and the mistake is taken care of.
Quite often it is also blamed on a
"computer error"
although the "computer error" is seldom corrected!?

I don't know the age group of those of you reading this,
but many will remember when a person
was as good as their word.
A handshake over a deal was as dependable
as any legal document.
People would have rather died than lie or cheat.
And neighbors who did not go to church,
prided themselves in their own integrity.
Back then, Christian standards formed
the basis of society even among those
who did not profess to be Christians.

What is our society coming to today?
"Lying lips are abomination to the LORD:
but they that deal truly are his delight.
"
